On 18 November 2021, Liège City Council, represented by Christine Defraigne, first alderman of the city, and Jean Pierre Hupkens, alderman for culture, received Charles Bonaparte, president of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities.
During this meeting, the city's membership of the Federation for the promotion of its Napoleonic heritage was discussed. This visit was also an opportunity for the president to visit theexhibition "Napoleon, beyond the myth".The largest exhibition in Belgium as part of the commemoration of the bicentenary of Napoleon's death.
